Clipper Stad Amsterdam tall ship under JR Shipping technical management

Clipper Stad Amsterdam occupies a distinct place in JR Shipping’s fleet overview. JR Shipping has been responsible for the tall ship’s technical management since 2012, supporting a passenger vessel used for sailing voyages, luxury cruises and business events.

The Dutch flagged clipper was built at Damen Oranjewerf in Amsterdam. Construction began in 1997, with the design inspired by the merchant trading vessel Amsterdam built in 1854. She carries 2,200 square metres of sail area.
In 2009, Stad Amsterdam undertook a voyage around the world for a Dutch television series following Charles Darwin’s expeditions. Her history also includes the 2011 tall ship race success recorded in JR Shipping’s existing vessel profile.
