MV Endurance is a 750 TEU container feeder that has sailed in the JR Shipping fleet since October 2005. She was built in Romania at the Daewoo Heavy Industries yard under the auspices of Volharding Shipyards.
Endurance is built to Ice Class 1A and has provision for refrigerated containers. These features sit alongside the loading flexibility of the Volharding 750 series. Her overall length is 134.65 metres, with a 7,200 kW MaK engine and a listed service speed of 17.5 knots.
JR Shipping’s 2026 annual report identifies Endurance as the remaining vessel in this series targeted for further optimisation. Her fleet entry describes a planned retrofit for 2026/2027. The technical team can provide the latest status of this programme and the vessel’s current specification.
Endurance’s planned optimisation sits alongside measures already introduced across JR Shipping’s container fleet. In 2025, the group installed drinking water refill stations to supply filtered water for crew members and reduce the use of disposable plastic bottles. The planned retrofit and this fleet measure represent separate steps in the group’s continuing environmental work.
