MV Enforcer 750 TEU container feeder

MV Enforcer is a 750 TEU container feeder built by Volharding Shipyards in 2003. She has sailed for JR Shipping since the end of that year and was the first vessel in the yard’s 750 series operated by the group.

The vessel measures 134.65 metres overall and has a listed service speed of 17.5 knots. A 7,200 kW MaK engine provides propulsion. Her container capacity includes provision for refrigerated containers, an important part of the original vessel design.

Enforcer’s retrofit adapted the bow shape and propeller blades to the lower speeds and varying draughts of present day feeder operations. JR Shipping’s 2026 annual report records an initial CII score improvement from 25.92 before the retrofit to 19.92 afterwards, a reduction of 23%. These are the reported post retrofit observations, rather than a guarantee of fuel savings on every voyage.

Alongside Enforcer’s technical retrofit, JR Shipping has addressed everyday waste within its container fleet. Drinking water refill stations introduced in 2025 give crew members access to filtered water and help reduce disposable plastic bottles. The fleet programme combines these practical changes on board with work to improve the efficiency of existing vessels.
