SeaZip 5 is a crew transfer vessel built by Damen Shipyards in 2016. A conversion during the winter break of 2022 increased her passenger capacity from 12 to 24, allowing the vessel to transport larger groups of offshore technicians.
The Damen FCS 2610 design uses two symmetrical Sea Axe hulls. SeaZip 5 is 26.30 metres long, with a listed service speed of 25 knots and two Caterpillar C32 engines rated at 895 kW each.
The vessel carries the Dutch flag and operates under Bureau Veritas class. Her offshore service profile includes the transport of industrial personnel and light cargo, with hydrographic survey and diving support among the other applications described by JR Shipping.
For a specific project, the technical enquiry should identify the size of the team, any cargo or equipment to be carried and the intended operating conditions. The superintendent can provide supporting vessel information and direct enquiries about availability.
SeaZip Offshore Service’s management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. JR Shipping lists ISM and MLC2006 certification for the vessel. The technical team can supply the relevant documentation for the assignment.
For a 24 passenger crew transfer vessel such as SeaZip 5, discussions about environmental performance need to relate to the offshore assignment and its transport requirements. JR Shipping’s group policy provides the broader direction: reduce the environmental footprint of daily operations and keep assessing opportunities for further improvements in the existing fleet.
